Sneak Preview of Workshops:

CSA Skill Building: Looking to make your CSA work more easily and more effectively? At the “Incorporating Technology into Your CSA” workshop you’ll have a chance to hear how other CSAs are using technology for recruitment, information organizing and education. Learn to explain CSA through easy to read, effective outreach materials in our “CSA is Simple: Improve Your Outreach Materials” workshop. And Classie Parker will have you dancing and asking for more while you learn the fundamentals of canning in “Preserving Your Seasonal Bounty”.

News from the Farm Front: What does CSA mean for our farmers? How does it help them to maintain their farms? Two of our CSA farmers will be talking about the benefits and challenges of CSA from their perspective at ”Inside Your Farmer’s World”. Also, join three more of our CSA farmers to learn about what it means to be a small scale meat producer in the Northeast.

Broadening CSA: CSAs across the city have developed exciting links with other groups and organizations in their neighborhoods. In “Creative Community Connections” hear what other CSA have created and share your own experiences. If you have received subsidy funding from Just Food or are interested in exploring how to make your CSA accessible to all members of your community regardless of income join us for “Bringing Everyone to the Table” to explore this aspect of CSA. “Joint Fundraising with Just Food” will explore the possibility of additional funding for your CSA and support for Just Food’s programs- two worthy goals that we can work toward together. And take a look at the bigger picture of CSA as it fits into the political context of New York City and New York State.
