Spring Tour on the Golden Earthworm Farm

VISIT:
About 90% of members responding wanted to attend a vineyard. Because of this, the trip will include a vineyard tour/ tasting (the vineyard is $5 per person payable to the vineyard once there). If you do not want to attend the vineyard, we still want you to come to the farm. If you are driving on your own and would like to caravan with the group, please see schedule, below, about when/ where to meet us. Driving directions are at bottom.
NEED TRANSPORTATION:
Van registration is now closed. If you need a ride there will be some people caravaning with us that will be at Cafe Bar. Please arrive before 9:30AM to see if there are any openings. This trip includes a vineyard tour. Cancellations must be made no later than Friday, May 4 by 9 AM to receive a refund. There is NO rain date.
CONFIRMED SCHEDULE:
We will send updates to those registered with the van once the schedule is confirmed and provide a contact number. If you’re driving yourself, we’ll see you on the farm or vineyard!
9:30 AM- Depart from Cafe Bar promptly, arrive earlier for check in. We cannot reimburse or wait for latecomers.
11:45-12:45- Paumanok Vineyard Tour and Tasting, cost=$5
1-1:45- Sac Lunch at Harbes Farm, BRING A LUNCH!
2-3:30- Farm Visit
6:00 PM- Return to Astoria
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
** Please bring a sac lunch for the day. We will not make food stops and there is none available at Harbes Farm.
** The cost of the Vineyard Tour/ Tasting is $5
** Farm grounds are muddy, please wear appropriate gear.
** Cancellations must be made no later than Friday, May 4 by 9 AM to receive a refund. If you do not show up or are late and we leave without you there is NO refund. The money will already be used towards the rental fee.
** There is NO rain date for the event. In case of rain please bring proper gear.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO GOLDEN EARTHWORM: (also see here)
From New York City and points west:
Take the LIE (495) east to the last exit (Exit 73). Continue to head east on Route 58. At the traffic circle in Riverhead, stay on Route 58 (go straight). Cross over Route 105, and continue east (go straight) on Route 25 for about 2 miles into Jamesport. Make a right on Washington Avenue. (Just past Jamesport True Value Hardware on your right.) Go over railroad tracks and make a right at the first stop sign onto Peconic Bay Blvd. We are just about a mile down the road on the right. There is a long tree-lined driveway.
From Orient, Greenport and points east:
Take Route 25 (also known as Main Road) approximately 20 miles west of Greenport Village. Make a left on Washington Avenue and follow directions above.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO PAUMANOK: (also see here)
The Midtown Tunnel leads directly to the LIE. Take the LIE (Long Island Expressway) to the last exit, exit 73. The exit ramp will bring you on to County Road 58, eastbound. Stay on this road, which will turn into Route 25 (or Main Road). From the LIE to Paumanok it is exactly 6 miles. Paumanok is located on the left side of the road. The address is 1074 Main Road.

The $15 per person will hopefully cover gas costs as well, but thanks for keeping on the toes!

I will be driving with two other fellow CSA members–all of us are interested in participating in the vineyard tour/tasting. I have room for one more individual.
