May 6 Farm Visit

It’s only day 2 of retrieving RSVPs and we already have an amazing response! Keep the replies coming (via email, DO NOT post here to comments if you’re coming).

We encourage all members of Astoria CSA to join us for a day on the farm! This is a fabulous way to meet your farmers, see your food as it grows and reconnect to the Earth. It’s also a great way to speak with the farmers about your concerns, desires, questions, etc.

Our first farm visit to The Golden Earthworm Organic Farm is Sunday, May 6, 2-3:30 PM

This visit is a “Technical Tour & Talk” of the greenhouses, land, vegetables, agriculture practices, etc. All are welcome but it is advised very young children have strollers or carriers as they may get tired. Also, the farm grounds are very muddy so bring proper gear!

The drive to the farm will take approximately 2 hours. We are looking into organizing transportation for the group for a small fee (around $10 per person to cover rental/ gas cost). Depending on numbers interested, we can rent a large van or bus — or if people have cars to use that might work too. We also need to let the farmers know how many of us to expect and how to handle parking. Also, if enough are interested (or if we’re in separate cars, we may add a vineyard tasting or two to the event to make this a full day’s event).
