Sign up for your Meat/Dairy delivery!!!
Our first veggie delivery on May 31 is finally here! Following that is our monthly delivery of meat/ dairy from the CSA Pastures co-op (Lewis Waite Farm and others)! Ordering your meat/ dairy is a different process than just showing up for your vegetables. You must pre-order (by phone, fax or online) and drops will be made once a month to our distribution site. A few days before your order is delivered you will receive a final bill. Once you have this you can pay online by PayPal, or bring a check to the distribution site and they will all get mailed together.
First, register for CSA Pastures and create a personal profile. Go to our secure page, www.astoriacsa.com/members.php, to receive password information on how to sign up and get into the CSA Pasture site. You must complete this step to place orders.

I just received the bottom letter from Maggie at the farm. For other farm news, check their website. They have a great blog of their own– including news on their new bee hive! This postponement means our shares will begin May 31.
Hello All,
Greetings from the farm! Lots of good news (and some changes) to report…
Firstly, and most importantly, please spread the news…. We are postponing our CSA by 1 week. The first delivery will now take place THE WEEK OF MAY 28th. The program will still run for 27 consecutive weeks, but instead of ending on the week of Thanksgiving, it will end the week after Thanksgiving. Read the rest of this entry »

The Golden Earthworm Farm donates 1 free share to Astoria CSA for every 30 shares we sell. In turn, Astoria CSA donates those shares to the Steinway Food Pantry, an emergency food program located at 41-36 27th Street. Thanks to our robust membership, we are able to donate 3 shares per week to the pantry, which provides food to whomever needs it. The Steinway Food Pantry does not require formal identifiers, since many of their consumers are homeless, disabled, low-income and immigrant individuals and families.
If you don’t pick up your share, the left over food will also go to the food pantry. Many CSA members may have 1 or 2 weeks that he or she can’t get to the pickup, and can’t arrange to have someone grab their share. If that happens, the left over food will also be given to the Steinway Food Pantry.
Find out more about volunteering and the food pantry at their web site: http://www.steinway.org/.
