This week we return to Farm Bill issues. The Senate has to pass a version of the Bill before it goes to Mr Bush, so we have another chance to lobby our elected representatives to support the things we care about. Don’t miss this crucial opportunity!
Also we review What To Eat by Marion Nestle and The Way We Eat by Peter Singer and Jim Mason.
Veggie update: No corn as listed in the newsletter, but cherry tomatoes instead.

This Saturday, August 4th, pack a lunch and head over to Astoria Park for our first annual Astoria CSA Picnic!
We will meet up on the big lawn from 12noon until 3:30pm. Bring the kids! Bring the dog! Non-members are also welcome at this event. Note: We don’t have an exact location in the park. Look for our group on the big lawn, near the southern edge (we’ll try to snag a spot half shaded, half sun). Just look for a familiar face!
If you haven’t attended any of our group events before, come out and see what you’ve been missing. We will have kid crafts on hand to keep little hands busy and a frisbee and football or two to entertain the big kids. Bring your bathing suit and take a dip in the Astoria pool. The weather is supposed to be beautiful. What are you waiting for? Come on out, spread out a blanket and meet the people who make this CSA so great.
See you there!
