Potluck Dinner This Saturday

Astoria CSA Potluck

Please join with us to celebrate the end of a successful season together. All members, friends and family are very welcome.

  • November 10 from 6-8 PM
  • ARROW Community Center, 35th St. between 35th & 36th Avenues.

We ask that every individual or family bring a dish to feed at least five or six people. Think appetizers, main courses, salads, side dishes, desserts.

No purchased prepared foods please. Try to keep it organic or local when possible. The CSA will provide utensils, plates, cups, and drinks.

Thanks to Teo for the pumpkin!

“bring a disk to feed”? Surely you mean “dish”?

    Recipe for appetizer we provided.

Roasted Root Vegetables on Daikon Radish Chips
1 small yellow gold potato, unpeeled
    1/3 large turnip
    1 small carrot
    4-5 scallions
    1 t fresh rosemary
    salt/pepper to taste
    2 Daikon radishes
Dice all (except radishes) into 1/4″ dice, mix with 2-3 T olive oil and roast at 450 degrees for 20 minutes, turning and scraping pan down every 5 minutes testing for doneness. Peel and slice Daikon radish into 1/4 inch “chips.” Mound & press 1 teaspoon on each raw Daikon slice and serve!
