What is Going Green in Queens ‘08?
The first event of its kind, Going Green in Queens ‘08 is a free environmental, educational, and networking event for individuals and groups that are green, environmental, parks, volunteer and civic minded.
More after the jump. There will be:
A tabling exhibition highlighting local and city wide volunteer, non-profit, and green organizations such as the City Parks Foundation, Citizens Committee for NYC, Solar One, Transportation Alternatives Queens Committee along with 2 dozen other organizations.
A Keynote Speaker featuring Queens Parks Commissioner Dorothy Lewandowski, who is not only a Parks Commissioner but also a Queens native who has been blazing a blue trail for NYC.
And 12 workshops to choose from including Masters Level Tree Pruning, City of Water short film screening, Bioswales (how to design gardens to catch run off storm water), Building Relationships with Elected Officials, Alternative Energy Sources/ Green Building, Funding for park and civic organizations, and many more!
Come and network and learn with the greenest minds in Queens.
