2) Calling our Chefs, Caterers and Kitchen Mavericks!
Are you a whiz in the kitchen? Would you like to share your skills with other Astoria CSA members? Our July workshop is a food demo! Let us know if you’d like to share your skills. We’ll provide a box of veggies and you get to play with food and share your talents and recipes (we’ll also try to wrangle one or two electric burners)! Thursday, July 24, 6-7:30 PM (plus set up/ clean up). This counts as your volunteer commitment. E-mail Dawn for more info: dawnrwilliams(at)hotmail(dot)com

4) Volunteer Hours
Thanks for the overwhelming response to our sign-up sheet this past week! Some of you signed up for more than one shift, THANK YOU SO MUCH for your commitment. Unfortunately, as our CSA has grown, we have more folks that want to put in their hours. If you signed up more than once, we will contact you about which date works best for you. Also, a couple of you have already done your shifts, so your obligation for this season is complete. (We’d love to keep you on call though.) If you did not get a chance to sign up there are still a few spots left. OR let us know what you’d like to do: plan an event, play music at an event, translate documents, help on press, grants, etc. Please email volunteer@astoriacsa.com to arrange your volunteer commitment!

4) Beer: Local & Low-Carbon-New Order Process- Order now!
Available every week! Please call your order in to Bierkraft. Orders are due Wednesdays 8 PM. See their website (www.bierkraft.com) for what beers are available to fill a growler, note your top choices then place an order by calling: 718-230-7600. Provide the following information: (1) You are with Astoria CSA (2) Your name (3) Credit card info/ phone number (4) How many growlers you are ordering (5) Whether you NEED growlers or will EXCHANGE growlers (5) Your top beer choices. Remember that kegs are small artisanal batches and run out frequently, note a few extra beer choices in case your first choice beer(s) runs out. There is NO CASH exchange at ARROW. Your credit card will be charged after the delivery in case your bottle breaks en route or you do not return a growler from the previous week (growlers are a one-time $4 deposit plus cost of beer).

5) Donations!
Thank you to our members who have already donated! Your contribution help make our low-income programming grow stronger in the coming years! Please consider helping us keep low-income shares thriving, whether it is $1 or $1,000! Log into your account (use the main shareholder’s email address) on the membership page (http://www.astoriacsa.com/join.php) and find the donation information at bottom. All money received goes towards supporting low-income shares.
