CHIOGGIA BEETS | Qty: 1 bunch
This is a beautiful variety beet with visible “candy stripes” when sliced horizontally.

RED TOMATOES | Qty: 3 pieces
Tomato season is winding down. If you can’t possibly eat another tomato right now, cook these up into a sauce and freeze for the winter. You’ll be desperate for some tomatoes come February…trust me!

Update from CSA Pasture

September 23rd, 2008 by stacey — Filed under: Our Farms (Info and News), Weekly Share Info

A note from CSA Pasture, our meat and dairy provider…

At the Farm

The first day of fall is here. We have already had one “chance of frost” warning that seemed out of place as the weather lately has been pretty spectacular. The leaves are all still quite green. The apples and pears are falling off the trees all over the place and the cows, pigs and horses are loving it. Ashley and I picked up a couple of buckets of apples for applesauce, cider and wine and apple pie! The colors and combinations of the wild apples are lovely. Some all green, some all red, some yellow and then the combos of color splotches and stripes. No two trees seem exactly alike and by the time you have tasted one of each tree to find the best flavor, your stomach is full!

Save the Date!

Sunday, October 19th, 11 AM to 3 PM is the Fall Festival on the Golden Earthworm Farm! We will try to organize a bus for this event, please send us an email if you are interested in joining us on the bus so we can determine our reservation for the day.*

The bus would leave ARROW aprx 9:00 AM and return at 5:00 PM (it is 2 hours to the farm). The farm’s events are a fabulous way to see where your vegetables grow, walk the fields, and just get out of the city! The Fall Festival also includes an all-member pot luck luncheon, hay rides into the fields, and sheep shearing!

*If you plan on scheduling your own transportation to the farm no need to respond.
