компютриThe first Queens Green Drinks is this Thursday, May 29! Bring friends. Hope to see you for the first Queens Green Drinks of 2008 at the Irish Rover in Astoria!

What’s Queens Green Drinks? Very simply, it’s an informal social gathering/networking event for folks that are environmentally minded. Come and I’ll introduce you to some of the other like minded folks in and around Queens. If we’re lucky (which is likely) we’ll cross pollinate make new friends, catch up with old ones, and maybe even sprout an idea or three.

Since this is a new little experiment for our borough, please help get the word out and tell your friends about it! Heck, why don’t you bring them?

For our first host, we have the Transportation Alternatives Queens Committee wrapping up the end of Bike Month and gearing up for the 1st annual Tour de Queens bike tour. May 29th is also Bike From Work Day. You’ll see TA Queens Committee folks greeting you with goodies at the foot of the Queensboro Bridge on your way to Queens Green Drinks! Check out transalt.org or tourdequeens.org for more info.

New LIC CSA

April 14th, 2008 by stacey — Filed under: Announcements, Local Business/ Community News

A new CSA is starting up in Long Island City supplied by the Farm at Miller’s Crossing. The distribution point will either be Sage American Kitchen on Jackson Ave or The Jacob A Riis Neighborhood Settlement in Queensbridge House.

As we have reached capacity, potential members may want to check LIC CSA out. They have 60 open shares and offer low-income shares, scholarships and accept food stamps.
